FC Clacton finally completed a league match for the first time since they played Cornard on 28th December. A chilly and damp day greeted the players at Swaffham, and it was FC Clacton who were caught cold in the 8th minute as the Clacton defence pushed up following a clearance, only for the ball to be played over the top of the onrushing defenders, and Andrew Hunter, who had timed his run perfectly, lifted the ball over the advancing Darren Gould to give the hosts the lead.

Ten minutes later Clacton had secured the lead which they would hold onto for the entire match. Firstly Matt Waters hit a 20 yard free kick into the bottom corner of the net after Jimmy Dunkley had been fouled, and then 4 minutes later Chris Ribchester pounced on a half cleared ball to fire into the same corner with his left foot.

Kevin Coyle produced a great finish on 55 minutes, beating the last defender before rounding the goalkeeper and smashing the ball home with his left foot from an acute angle.

The same player wrapped up the points with a close range header after 84 minutes. The only downside to the afternoon were cautions handed out by a fussy Mr.Burroughs to Lee Peacock and Gareth Gibson.
